Star Lantern Call

Moon MastStar watchLime beaconFictional dispatch
Stylised fictional story scene for Star Lantern Call

The mast on Moon Cliff looked like a fishing rod left upright by a giant. Elara climbed it after dark because the last night signal had ended exactly where the water began.

A green point above the bay

The lantern sent a small lime circle across the waves. It was not a promise or a beacon to follow; inside the story it was only Elara’s way of keeping a meeting with the night.

The bass below the stars

A single fish cut through the reflection of the light. It did not take the lure. It did not need to. Watching it travel across the bay completed the call.

The message left unsent

At the bottom of the page, Elara wrote a blank line and folded the map. Some signals are better when they remain a question.
